Bellagio's 'Project Mojave': MGM's $397M Project to Reshape the Strip
The Bellagio is upping the ante on the Las Vegas Strip with "Project Mojave," a massive expansion plan that's about to face its first round of bureaucratic scrutiny.
This 397,180-square-foot addition is MGM's bold bet to transform the iconic resort with new retail, dining, and entertainment spaces.
The project's journey begins at the Paradise town advisory board on July 30, before potentially advancing to the Clark County Zoning Commission on August 21.
If approved, Bellagio will add nearly a dozen new shops, a day/nightclub, an entertainment facility, and various outdoor spaces.
The plans also include a striking 141-foot LED sign to replace the current Strip-side landmark.
In a move that could change the game on the Strip, MGM is proposing a bridge to connect Bellagio with its newly acquired Cosmopolitan.
This expansion follows recent room renovations and signals MGM's commitment to keeping Bellagio at the forefront of Las Vegas luxury. The stakes are high, but MGM seems confident in its hand.

GOVERNMENT NEWS
Chip or Pay the Price: Vegas' New Pet Law Has Owners Racing to Beat the Clock
The City of Las Vegas is raising the stakes on pet ownership, mandating microchips for cats and dogs by August 1st.
This new ordinance isn't just a game of fetch - it's serious business, with penalties that could leave your wallet as empty as a rigged slot machine.
Pet owners are scrambling to get their furry friends chipped before the deadline. The city's not bluffing either; non-compliance could result in a misdemeanor charge with fines up to $1,000 and six months in the doghouse (jail).
But there's a silver lining - local organizations, including the Nevada SPCA, are offering free or low-cost chipping events, giving pet owners a chance to save on the cost of pet ownership.

UFC's Sphere Showdown: O'Malley and Grasso Ready to Rumble in Vegas' $2.3B Octagon
The UFC is rolling the dice on a spectacle bigger than a royal flush, as it unveils its star-studded lineup for UFC 306 at the jaw-dropping Sphere.
Sean O'Malley and Alexa Grasso are set to defend their titles on September 14th. Dana White, not content with just breaking ground, is promising a show that'll make the NHL draft look like amateur hour.
With the Sphere's cutting-edge tech as their canvas, the UFC is painting a masterpiece of combat sports.
But don't blink - this pricey extravaganza might be a one-time jackpot, according to White, $20 million has already been spent on logistics alone. To help cover some of the cost, the event even took on a sponsor and will be officially branded Riyadh Season Noche UFC.
For those who don't know, myself included, Riyadh Season is a Saudi based company known for throwing amazing entertainment, cultural, and sporting events.
Meanwhile, boxing's biggest star, Canelo Alvarez, is squaring up for his own bout across town at T-Mobile Arena, making Vegas the undisputed champ of fight night.
