GENERAL NEWS
Alien Art or Desert Prank? Mysterious Monolith Crashes Las Vegas
Looks like our neck of the desert just had its own close encounter of the weird kind, with a mysterious monolith popped up near Gass Peak.

Now, we're not saying it's aliens, but... well, it’s definitely something strange.
This metallic maverick is the latest in a string of similar oddities that've been crashing the party from Utah to Romania since 2020.
While we may never know who's behind these cosmic pranks, one thing's for sure - the Desert National Wildlife Refuge isn't the place for impromptu art installations
VEGAS BUSINESS NEWS
Sloan's Solar Surge: New Factory Powers Up Jobs and Clean Energy
Nextracker and Unimacts are making waves in Sloan (about 5 minutes south of St Rose Pkwy on I-15) with a brand new solar tracker factory.
This 160,000-sq-ft facility is their second in our area, churning out steel torque tubes for solar panels.
Together, these plants are set to support over 2 GW of new solar power annually. That's enough energy to light up the Strip and then some!
But it's not just about clean energy - it's a win for our local economy too. We're talking about new jobs and growth, right in our backyard.
Nextracker's been busy, opening over 20 factories across the US since 2021. Their CEO, Dan Shugar, is calling it an "American manufacturing renaissance."
This solar boom isn't just a Vegas thing - it's spreading across the country. The American Clean Power Association predicts a whopping 550,000 new clean energy jobs by 2030.

NEVADA GOVERNMENT NEWS
Nevada Bets on AI: State Agencies Embrace Tech, Lawmakers Hedge
Looks like our state agencies are rolling the dice on some high-tech helpers!
From unemployment appeals to health insurance questions, AI is stepping up to the plate.
The Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) is hoping to slash through those pesky appeal backlogs, while the Health Insurance Exchange is already seeing shorter wait times thanks to their virtual agent.
But not everyone's ready to go all-in on this tech trend.
Some lawmakers are feeling like they've got a pair of twos against a full house, worried about relying too heavily on algorithms.
As Nevada cautiously dips its toes into the AI pool, one thing's for sure - the future of our state services is looking mighty interesting!
