GENERAL NEWS
Costco's New Entrance Policy: Scanning Into Savings

Costco's about to roll out a new entry system where you'll need to scan your membership card or phone QR code to enter the warehouse wonderland.

This move aims to crack down on non-members sneaking in to snag those sweet deals. It's like a VIP club, but instead of velvet ropes, you've got barcode scanners!

Don't worry, though - a friendly Costco greeter will still be there to welcome you. And if your membership has expired? They'll kindly redirect you to renew before you start loading up that oversized flatbed cart.

Remember, Costco's membership fees are going up a smidge come September 1st. But with their thin profit margins on goods, it's still a bargain hunter's paradise.

Sky-High Dreams: Towering Proposal Aims to Reshape the Strip's Skyline

A new project is aiming to take our famous skyline to new heights. Two 600-foot towers are being proposed for 10 acres of prime Strip real estate, just south of the shimmering Fontainebleau.

This ambitious plan, cooked up by veteran Vegas developer Brett Torino and New York's Paul Kanavos, would be a mixed-use wonderland. We're talking residential units, hotel rooms, restaurants, outdoor dining, and even a theater.

But here's the kicker - they'll need to roll the dice on getting a height restriction waiver, as the current limit is just 75 feet. They're also looking to shuffle the deck on parking requirements, betting on the changing transportation habits of Vegas visitors.

Will this sky-high dream become reality? Only time will tell, but one thing's for sure - Vegas never stops reinventing itself!
